A blessed spell of tears frees me of insomnia

Parul Singh, August 2015
In the last week of June 2015, a friend of my brother's sent me some photographs on my phone. He mentioned that these were of Guruji and that Guruji had miraculous powers. He talked about the Bade Mandir. I took it lightly, wondering how even though Guruji was not physically present, people thronged His Mandir. On one of those photographs, that of a sacred lamp, or diya, I saw Guruji's face superimposed as it were on the flames. I discounted the happenstance, telling my friend that the photograph could easily be an edited image.

But the darshan made a lasting impression and I had a sudden and desperate urge to know more about Guruji. I searched about Him on the net, watched the few YouTube videos I could find, and read as many satsangs as I could in a matter of four to five days.

For the last decade or so, I had been suffering from insomnia. It had become a grave problem for the last two years, ever since our family had gone to visit historical places in Jodhpur in year 2013. (We had shifted to Jodhpur from Meerut.) I quite believed that something was disturbing my sleep every night since that trip. And I had tried any number of treatments without getting rid of my affliction.

My brother's friend had, thus, asked me to do Guruji's mantra jaap whenever I wanted to. That Saturday, I included the jaap during my daily pooja. While doing the jaap, I also kept a glass of water near the pooja ghar. After my prayer, I added it to the drinking water in the kitchen.

Soon, I went to sleep. I woke up at around 11 am and dealt with my routine chores. I had just finished, when I suddenly felt like crying. I tried not to, but I began to cry freely. Only my son was at home as my husband had earlier left for work without waking me up. It felt like I was lamenting the loss of someone very dear. In the afternoon, my husband returned and we lunched together. Then I again began crying. My husband asked me why but I had no clue. Later, I fell asleep and woke up very fresh and light.

Today, I truly believe Guruji has saved me from the clutches of a grave problem-though I have never met or seen Guruji in physical form nor even been to His Mandir. Yet, Guruji has cured me; my life is back to normal.

In fact, insomnia in varying degrees had been a problem that had affected me for a decade. I could not sleep during the night nor during the day to compensate for the lack of night's sleep. I would even take sleeping pills at times. Now, all that is a thing of the past. Guruji's shabads act as tranquilizers for me and I doze off before even being able to listen to them wholly. I always get a sound sleep without any bad dreams whatsoever.

I humbly bow to Guruji's loving devotees! He is the driving force who is making me share this satsang with the sangat. I am a lowly mortal who cannot describe Guruji's glory at all, but as a devotee I must share his satsang. It is only due to His divine blessings that I am carefree and happy. Thank you, Guruji!
