I live in the US and got to know about Guruji at the beginning of the year 2020 through one of my close friends in India. She told me about Guruji's blessings and suggested that I should visit the Guruji Edison Mandir in New Jersey.
That summer, in June-July 2020, my husband and I were travelling from New York, and I told him that while returning home, we would stop by Guruji's Mandir. He agreed. When we reached Edison, we tried finding the Mandir through online maps but kept going in circles. We asked people and were told about a Gujarati temple close by—perhaps it wasn't time for Guruji's
bulava (call). I tried calling the contact number listed for the Mandir, but nobody answered. After about two hours, I received a call back from a devotee, Shri Batra, who kindly explained that the Mandir was usually closed during the day. He shared a contact number of devotees in Virginia, so we could attend
satsang there instead.
That's how my journey with Guruji began. I connected with the Virginia
sangat and started attending satsangs, feeling Guruji's divine presence and blessings from day one.
I also told my family in India about Guruji. Even though the Covid-19 epidemic had begun by that time, they began visiting Guruji's Mandir to take His blessings. By His grace, Guruji kept everyone in our family safe during that challenging time.
Guruji always says that when something big is about to happen in your life, He takes you under His
sharan to protect you. I realized the truth of this in 2022. My younger sister had suffered from cancer in 2015 and now, seven years later, it had returned and spread. Doctors told us that her condition was grave and that she might have only six months left.
We were heartbroken. I prayed to Guruji for her well-being and asked Him: "Now that we are in Your sharan, why is this happening again?" I later recollected Guruji's teaching, that He takes 90 per cent of our suffering on Himself and we bear the remaining 10 per cent of our karma. My sister, who has a teenage son to take care of as well, slowly began getting well as she took Guruji's
langar prasad. She also drank water from a blessed copper tumbler.
Two years later, in 2024, the cancer returned again. My sister was in a grave condition and chemotherapy began again. With resilient strength and grace, which I believe come from Guruji, she continues to fight the disease bravely while taking care of her 14-year-old son. Add to that, her husband works in Dubai, so she manages everything herself.
She is not doing it by herself. It is Guruji who is taking care of her and helping her clear out her karmas. May Guruji keep showering His blessings upon her and everyone.
