Our family has been associated with Guruji for a while now. After marriage, I moved to America and although I always prayed to Guruji, I think spiritually I had not made a sincere effort to connect with Him. In June 2013, I was diagnosed with cancer and that changed everything. Through my surgeries and various therapies, my mom kept reminding me to remember Guruji and have faith in Him. As I connected with Guruji, my life became increasingly positive.
After the diagnosis, I began going to Guruji's satsangs in California. One devotee gave me 'Light of Divinity' to read. Reading the book and listening to the satsangs not only re-affirmed my faith in Guruji but also provided a lot of hope. During the course of my treatment, I would worry and cry all the time thinking of what would happen to my young daughter who was in elementary school. Now I understand that Guruji knows best. The reins of my life are in His hands. Knowing that Guruji is around has instilled hope.
After one of my surgeries, I woke up with unbearable pain. It was as though someone were literally pulling my body apart in two different directions. Strong painkillers were not helping at all. My mom asked me to begin chanting Guruji's name. I started saying "Jai Guruji". After sometime, as if like magic, the pain vanished and I fell asleep. This was the first time I realized the power of Guruji's name. Jai Guruji!
A week after my surgery, I went to Guruji's satsang. An incision from the surgery was badly bruised and really painful. At the satsang I got three cups of chai prasad as well as langar and samosa prasad. The next morning, the bruise was gone. Chemotherapy has taken a toll on my body and even a small cut takes a while to heal. That the bruise vanished overnight is only due to Guruji's grace.
May Guruji forgive my mistakes of omission and commission. May He keep me at His Lotus Feet. Thank you, Guruji, for this gift of life. I thank you for everything in my life and for all the love, hope and positivity. I am a better person because of you. Please, please Guruji keep me in your grace. Jai Guruji!
